Stuck in the Snow!

Once upon a time there was a girl driving home late at night. It was snowing, and the wind was blowing, and there were snowdrifts all over the road. She made it to the bottom of her driveway and attempted to make it up the hill. She made it partway but then had to back down and try again. She decided to build up some speed in the field then take the hill straight on.

That almost worked but not quite because she hadn’t been able to build up enough speed in the field since the snow was drifted. Being an intelligent young lady, she decided to drive back down the road, turn around and build up enough speed to get through the drifts in the field hence giving her enough speed to get up the hill. This was a brilliant plan and would have worked except for one minor incident.

As she was driving down the road, she decided she didn’t want to drive a half a mile to turn around. So, she decided to turn around in the field. Halfway through this maneuver, she got scared that she would get stuck, so she hurriedly backed back onto the road. The problem with snowy weather is that you can’t always see where you are going. This happened to this unfortunate girl and she went too far and backed her car into the ditch on the other side of the road.

Not wanting to make a bigger mess of things by spinning her wheels when it was hopeless, the girl got out of her car and ran home…in a skirt…and dress shoes…a quarter of a mile. It is probably a good thing she had to walk so far because it took the full quarter mile to tell landscape around her just exactly how she felt about her driving skills :)

The next day, her wonderful Dad pulled her out with his truck, and she went merrily on her way to work feeling grateful for her handy Dad. The End.
